Teardrops on my Guitar - Taylor Swift

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see

That I want and I'm needing everything that we should be

I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about

And she's got everything that I have to live without

Drew talks to me, I laugh cause it's so damn funny

That I can't even see anyone when he's with me

He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right,

I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night

[Chorus:]

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar

The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star

He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do

Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can't breathe?

And there he goes, so perfectly,

The kind of flawless I wish I could be

She'd better hold him tight, give him all her love

Look in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky cause

[Repeat Chorus]

So I drive home alone, as I turn out the light

I'll put his picture down and maybe

Get some sleep tonight

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar

The only one who's got enough of me to break my heart

He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do

He's the time taken up, but there's never enough

And he's all that I need to fall into..

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see

08 Jan

We started Day 4 slowly, with a slow breakfast, back to hotel to do a final pack of our luggage, me and cousin took a nap.
Seriously, Bangkok's food haven really made me yearn for more. Perhaps I haven tried the right food and those roadside stalls didnt look appealing to me. (Even though I've heard that they're yummie!)

Cute and Blur bellboy

Feeling all kinds of mixed feelings to leave the place, to end the trip. From happy to relieved and even a lil sadness. The streets which feel its ever busy, densely occupied by roadside stalls and retails who strives hard to earn a living. And that living are merely insignificant bahts to us. We probably spend it without giving much thought. Guess thats what happens when you are so used to the expensive lifestyle.
But I have to admit that amongst the whistles of the 'traffic police', aggressive tuk tuk and taxi drivers, and all the others..the people in Bangkok were really nice. They tried to help us when we were in the blurs. Their efforts to greet us with grins and where possible, even in mandarin has sometimes made me felt at home (of course minus the pollution and weird accents)

He self-declared as our dad.

07 Jan

Headed to Platinum Fashion Mall, a wholesale shopping mall. I was still happily shopping until towards the mid noon that I started to feel so saturated w shopping. Just too many things to buy.And on Day 3, im smarter but more cruel it seems. Since the 3 of us had diff interests fr the hmphs oldest...Koon decided that we sshould split our shopping to prevent more conflicts! Plus Platinum is quite safe and non-crowded. And im sure she did the right thing! ;p

Sick of shopping, more of eating. So we went around trying the Thai's KFC and some Thai food in this mini resturant in Platinum.
It was said that the KFC chicken is nicer than the Singapore's one. But I wonder if its just self-delusion or really so. hahas.

We got Spicy Mango Salad which was marvellous for Koon! Coz it was really spicy! I Dont Love it at all coz it was too spicy for me! ;p and those who couldnt take the spicyness, *oops sorry! hahas.
But the Fried fish patties were so-so. And its super oily. ;[ Perhaps the name suggested so.
Probably one interesting thing is that Croy-Tai prepares its salad in the open, one of the good ways to attract patrons especially tourists yea!

Baskin Robbins
We even had ice-cream treats at Baskin Robbins which is not available in Singapore. The waiter must have thought that Koon was damn weird when she placed the camera on his counter trying to take a 4-person pic. =x lol.

Departure
Sadly, goey had to leave us earlier by one day! And see the filial 'daughter' (Koon)carrying her mum's bag. hahas..She made goey pose that pic ;p goodbye brave Goey Aeng!

The night is so much more dull without my Goey Aeng!! We visited the luxurious Central World and Isetan which sells branded products and even my fav Zara. Yet things here are more expensive than Singapore! Other than taking a look around the place, i din get anything!
And these luxurious places were really empty~~ with v few shopaholic around. Unlike those in spore which are normally patronised by observable crowd. And there the different between luxury and lower end night n weekend markets..

Spot the crazy koon and pseudo crazy peijin
After Central World, we went back to the hotel to grab some bite. we went for oil massage but sorry no pics for that coz it was censor!!!!!
end of the day

06 Jan
I am the first woke up on the second day cause I never slp at all. Someone was snoring happily beside me. Although we did not share the same bed but her bed was jus beside me.

In the morning we had our breakfast at Sky Lounge located at 43th floor. The glance over the glass windows , seriously, wasnt, impressive. And it disappoint me a lil for not being able to enjoy the beautiful skies at 43th storey high. It is a place where one can enjoy the views of skyscrapers and even the streets in BKK or at least around the Pratunam area.

The food was fine. Enough to tame the growling stomachs of the ladies. But hmphs there's 2 of us who's ultimately displeased at the way the cousin eats. Showing bad ettiquettes and the ultimae kiasu-ism of a typical Singaporean. Sometimes free just doesnt means abuse.

According to our plans, we were supposed to head to Chatuchak Weekend Market at 10+ am. We hopped on to mine favourite tuk tuk again, for a fare as low as 100bahts! Just as we've travelled 2km or so, another tuk tuk came along and advised us that having 4 persons on a tuk tuk is an offence and ther's a checkpoint in between Chatuchak and where we are now.

After much persuasion and agreeing at 50bahts per tuk tuk, we agreed to split since its more comfortable too! Rather than having the poor koon to sit and squeeze on the ground of tuktuk.

Yet things werent as simple as a 'checkpoint'.First,we were told that not all the shops in Chatuchak are open yet.Next, we were asked if we wanna visit a place and at the same time they can have free petrol once we visit.Third, advertising started regarding nice earrings and rings the place have. I remembered the guy repeating 'Beautiful' continously. Not only so, it was said that Chatuchak is just OPPOSITE the place they are bringing us to.The last thing he said was that if we buy anything fr the place, they'll give us free transport!

We agreed to help them since we know TukTuk drivers are poor.We reached the GEMS GALLERY INTERNATIONAL. There, we saw live manufacturing of gems like sapphires, topaz, etc. All of which were heart-winning.

And to begin our day w a shock, we could not find our tuktuk!! We frantically looked through our photos, scanning for the plate no. and the photos of the drivers. (the usefulness of photoSS)We were conned. not really in terms of money or what. But 1 tuk tuk escaped, and we were forced to get on the original tuk tuk w 40bahts. Fueled by anger, we decided to walk there than to rely on tuktuk. Yet when we asked the people working in the gallery for directions, we were told that it is too far to walk ther!

Stranded in the faraway place, we had no choice but to take the tuktuk but negotiating it to as low as 20bahts. Poor tuktuk man 1, who were supposed to be paid 100bahts in the first place.
It doesnt pay to be too kind. But well, the gems gallery was an unexpected eye-opener.

Arriving at Chatuchak, it has an overwhelming of 60+ sections. Each section itself is a maze and a small maze within a big maze is a BIG maze. Yet another trouble is brewing here. The cousin who doesnt seems to appreciate the beauty of weekend markets(and also shopping malls) keep complaining of the low-class fashion hanging out there. No doubt the place itself is not of a class. But the clothes and accessories are not any lesser than what we see in Singapore. We just need some sorta fashion sense to imagine things out since all that Ive bought were not allowed to try.More nonsense from her came as she hinted that she wants to rest. Then she screwed us up w a stomachache, telling us that she wanna blackout and wants a 19 year old to bring her (a 22 yr old) to a toilet which was just right in front. The worst thing came when she said she wanna go back to hotel and rest first and msged me at the end of the day to say meet at the mainroad! AMongst the maze, wher the hell do we know wher's the mainroad she's talking about! Mainroad to us may not be to her.

More of CHatuchak - to use our bargaining skills!
We met this auntie selling Strawberries and communication was of a ultimate breakdown! We were asking her..how long can we keep the fruits..
she answered...250bahts repeatedly.
after she got help from someone who supposedly was supposed to understand, she answered us the same thing.
The third person she got help from answered us Saturday, Sunday..apparently the opening days of CHatuchak.
We gave up and laughed.
Oh btw, the designers in Chatuchak were really humble! ;]

Dinner was at Chinatown for its famous and CHEAP birdnest and sharkfins. Thick birdnest at only 200 bahts. I wanna have more!! more of birdnest!

After dinner, this kind auntie helped us hailed a cab and instructed the cab driver to drive us to Suan Lum Night BAzaar based on the meter and it costs us only 51 bahts or so!The Suan Lum Night bazaar is much more spacious and quieter than Chatuchak. But it doesnt offer as much returns to me.No matter what, its good to see around and understand how the weekend markets or night bazaars work even if its ultra hot or u couldnt 'find' anything to buy.

I back from Bangkok holiday from 5 Jan to 8 Jan.

first time i went holiday without Jiawei, cos he used to help me keep my passport and my money.
5 Jan: Our flight is 6.30am in the morning flying by tiger airways. So we had to wake up at ard 3.15am in the morning and leave the house at ard 3.55am and waited for Goey Aeng at the main road because we share the same cab and headed to where we ask our cousin to wait for us but she was late. I thought she put on makeup then late but when i saw her no makeup lei. On the way to the airport there is 1 gal (our photographer for our whole journey) that need did not slp for the whole night but yet still so hyper.

first time i been to the budget terminal, I was like diao!!! looks like those kind of China aiport unlike Terminal 1 and 2.

Finally we have reach Bangkok, when we get out of the airport and looked at the sky, how come the sky is grey colour? We hopped into a taxi. first saw a taxi so dirty and even with mosquitoes. From airport to hotel cost us abt 400 bahts.

Finally we reached out Hotel, after we checked in. We went to MBK, on the way to the BTS station. Below is our first purchase.

On the way my cousin was eating her fried chicken skin, taste like those crackers, kept till next day still as crispy as the day before... hahaha...

When we reached MBK, we went to Tokyu departmental store first. the prices there is almost the same as Singapore, then we went to MBK where we can bargain over there. bought a t-shirt, a watch, 2 belts and alot of titbits.

All the pics above cannot see Goey Aeng, I guess your head too big. hahaha!!!! Finally is the tuk tuk ride, I had been waiting for so long. After our dinner at MBK, we took a tuk tuk back to the hotel. The tuk tuk driver was real reckless but is really exciting.

The place where we went for our Thai Massage looks so scary "Rosa Salon". The walls were post with indecent posters. Actually I was feeling uncomfortable with that place but no choice they went in so no choice. Guess they were not really that professional.

Back to Hotel
